Help requested... Greetings of peace/As salaamu alaikum,I hope this message finds you well. I am emailing you to request your participation in my study on the experiences of Gen X and early millennial Latino Muslims in the United States. This study addresses the lack of historical documentation and scholarly attention given to the post-conversion journeys of Latino Muslims, particularly those who converted to Islam between 1995 and 2005 and have since played active roles in their communities. The purpose of my research is to explore the leadership development, community contributions, and personal journeys of Latino Muslims who have lived through the unique challenges of post-9/11 America. Through this study, I hope to understand how these individuals have navigated their faith and leadership roles over the past two decades. If you choose to participate, you will be involved in a semi-structured interview, which will be conducted virtually via Zoom. The interview will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and you will have the flexibility to participate from your home or office to ensure privacy and confidentiality. During the interview, you will be asked to share your insights on your personal and spiritual growth, your community involvement, and the challenges you have faced as a Latino Muslim. I may request a follow-up interview of no more than thirty minutes later. This research is part of my graduate thesis at Chicago Theological Seminary. It aims to contribute to the broader understanding of Latino Muslim leadership and the long-term impact of Islam on their lives. Participants should meet the following criteria:• Identify as Latino/Hispanic/Latin American• Born between 1965 and 1985• Converted to Islam between 1995 and 2005• Involved in the Islamic communityYour participation is completely voluntary, but I hope you will consider being part of this important project to help document and preserve the experiences of Latino Muslims and aid current and future generations of Muslims and scholars alike. If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at wendy.diazguadalupe@ctschicago.edu .Than ... See MoreSee Less
